I do like to be beside the sea! The London summer (as hit and miss as it’s been) has brought with it a craving for swimming in, and just generally being near, the ocean. Luckily I’ve had a few opportunities to take a dip and enjoy the refreshing salty sea water, the latest of which was a lovely camping trip to the South West English coast in Dorset.
I’m think myself very lucky to have a fantastic workplace made up of many friendly, interesting, smart and funny people from all over the world. So when the idea of a camping weekend was suggested, I was in! Come Saturday morning, eight of us set off from London – half in a car and the other half on the train. While the weather forecast did not seem to be on our side (much rain and wind predicted!), our spirits could not be dampened (as seen by the ongoing banter in the Team Camp! WhatsApp group).
We met in Weymouth for lunch and were instantly charmed by the seaside town. The sun made an appearance and we instantly felt on holiday as we wandered along the beach promenade and alongside the harbour, taking it all in. An enjoyable lunch was had at local pub, the Red Lion, and before long five of us made our way on foot to the campsite. The wind was blowing a gale and there were clouds all around, but the view was still stunning as we made our way along the coastline.
A great evening was had – pizzas and drinks, guitar and sing-a-longs, and even though it was too windy to light a campfire we demolished a bag of marshmallows anyway! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did the weekend… our chilly but invigorating swim came the next day back in Weymouth just before the clouds and rain rolled in for the afternoon.

All in all, a brilliant weekend had by all!
